The EXGAE opens with the notion of channelling the popular and justified hostility towards of the official Societies of Authors and Composers and other trade groups of the cultural industry like the spanish SGAE, equipping people with artistic and legal skills to finally put an end to these entities and there private goals.
The EXGAE fights, alongside the great majority of society, for alternative forms for the circulation of culture.

Here is the Net, take it forth and multiply. The Internet allows the horizontal exchange of information and culture between everyone. Times have changed and finally there is equality between reproduction and its original. Because of this, mediums of production need to adapt themselves to this new type of democracy and not the other way around.
But are you still paying the SOCIETIES OF AUTHORS? Now is the time to action this new movement: such bureaucratic organizations are obsolete and make it difficult to circulate knowledge freely, reinforcing the restrictive lobby of people instead of allowing society, as a whole, to benefit, as they claim.
Now, new ways of protecting and promoting creation exist.These are what need to be instigated.
As always, civil society is way ahead of law. Because of this, the EXGAE is a legal advice service for creators and those affected by the actions of the traditional societies of authors and composers and other trade groups of the cultural industry.
The EXGAE is focused on informing and assisting citizens, (every one of us pays into the canon!), and in particular, give legal advice to traders, creators, artists and producers alike.
24 bodies, including associations and individuals, are behind this initiative, which begins with the endorsement of almost 8000 people.
EXGAE offers the following services:
-Legal advice:lawyers specialize in intellectual property, new technology and authors’ rights will be at your disposal for consultation.
-Tools for self-defense: At www.exgae.net, anyone can download the necessary tools (Model contracts, letters to reject the canon with regard to the circulation of work applying to inadmissible work, etc etc…).
-Exchange of material: offer skills to access materials that are not subject to the restrictions of the cultural industry bodies.
- We prepare layers.
-Events, Actitudes, viral campaigns, presentations, actions, DIY workshops, P2P nets.
